2017 FEB24 Comet 45P/Honda-Mrkos-Pajdusakova This comet was 12.5 Magnitude! (at time of image) 20 minutes ISO3200 D750 & TSAPO65mm F=420 ; faintest comet I captured till this moment
April 2016 comet 252/P LINEAR on the morning of April 7th 2016
A rather large comet with a 1 degree halo, can be seen in the 10x50 binoculars at SQM 20,43
Globular cluster M14 and the star Gamma Ophiuchi (left below)
Comet Catalina in the January 2016 sky: because the 5 different images that compose this picture are aligned on the comet nucleus, the stars appeard trailed. This technique brings out more detail in the comet itself.
It's the same picture as the one below but stacked and processed differently.
There are some very small galaxies on the picture too, NGC 5406 (magn 12.3).
Im' pretty happy to have processed out the double tail again because this is quite a challenge for me!
180s on ISO800 / Nikon D5100 & TS65APO, @j SQM 20,45 Total exposure 15 minutes
Picture date: January 12th, 1u50 MET
To bring out more tail details, it's really required to have shorter exposures, or to track the comet's movement.
December 10th 2015: Comet Catalina
This comet displays a remarkable double tail. At the time of the picture is was stil very low above the east horizon.
2015 Lovejoy January 13 Finally through the rain clouds and heavy storm winds a small window of opportunity to get a peep on Lovejoy (through some cirrus clouds) 62x30" on ISO800 Nikkor AIS ED 180mm F2.8 no LPS no Guiding on HEQ5
2014 Comet Jacques Comet Jacques C/2014 during the night of August 29/30 2014.
Due to cloud field passing only a few exposures could be made (limited clear window). In total 10 minutes (5 shots) were worthwhile processing. Unfortunately the processing with DeepSkyStacker was not very straightforward. The resulting image had almost no color left and all subtilities in contrast were gone.
Patrick Jacobs (Erps-Kwerps) came to the rescue with Astroart 4. The image below is a single frame and what a difference in noise levels!
