22 years ago, Mars was in opposition on 28/9/1988 and these are sketches I could make at the time with a homebuild 200mm Newtonian F6 with Lichtenknecker mirrors.

One of my favorite objects, IC1396 in Cepheus, or also called the “Elephant Trunc”, imaged from Castellet-en-Luberon under a beautifull SQM 21.30 sky, with crickets, shooting stars.
