Fixing my camera´s

Both the 2600MM and MC were out of order. The color camera was plain dead, the monochroome camera suffered from the infamous oil leak.

The new motherboard placed in the camera. It’s black-colored, while the old board was the classic green.

The mother board of the 2600mc was easily replaced. I used latex gloves to protect the electronics. The most tricky part as to insert the band connector, that links the board top the sensor electronics.

For the monochrome: it was opened and the oil was removed. I used the video from highpoint scientific as a guide. Everything went well and the sensor is clean again.

I stored the window cover is a plastick bag, to protect it from dust, but also to avoid that the moisture pads got saturated.
Here the oil leak is clearly seen.
The sensor pad was unscrewed and lifted, to get access to the oil-saturated thermal pad below it; This pad connects the sensor thermally to the cooling electronics. With the cotton swabs, it was easy to remove the excess oil.
The result: a clean sensor !!!!
